avg internet security and trend micro internet security together?

i have windows vista ultimate and have had trend micro internet security for year, now i've installed ang internet security and was wondering is it a good idea to have trend micro and avg run at the same time on the same pc? or will they just as they say fight eahother.

You should have kept one, after trend's updates finishes you should have switched to avg. It's not good to have both at the same time

Antivirus programs are our best friend but sometimes they can be a nightmare too. Some antivirus programs are too heavy on the computer, they give more headache than they solve. Whenever I buy a new computer and I see Norton antivirus, not only do I get headache (just kidding), I also remove it from the computer straight away.

Norton antivirus does a good job by preventing the computer from virus, but at the same time it gets the user involved too much in its implementation that I think people at Norton are not performing product usability testing for their software tools.

Norton antivirus runs so many background services on your computer so this can slow down your computer. The background services are used for keeping the software up to date but having 3-6 services and start up items is not the best way to keep your computer safe.

McAfee is another antivirus that can slow down your computer. If you run McAfee it will constantly bother you to check if you want to allow access to certain programs. This is another headache on its own. It's like having a security officer in a store, but the officer keeps phoning the manager if he should let people in whenever a new person arrives. The software should have a huge of lists of application to allow, especially common applications like iTunes, Firefox etc without having to prompt users.

The best antivirus programs that will not slow down your computer is AVG, and its free. AVG antivirus is light, will not bother you with "access issues", will not bother you to update (it updates itself in the background), and best of all it is free and will prevent you from virus, phishing, internet privacy etc.

Anti virus are not meant to slow down computer, but the implementation of Norton and McAfee (one of the two biggest brands) are so bad they have conditioned computer users to think it is normal for antivirus to slow down computers.
