ilife 08 update?

I have a new mac book and it came with Mac OS X 10.4.9 and iLife(iphoto 6.0.6, imovie hd 6.0.3, iweb 1.1.2) and I saw on the Apple downloads site there is a update to 08.It didn't say shareware or demo, it just said update(http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/application_updates/imovie701.html).
I downloaded it and tried to install it but it says i don't have that iApp installed and doesn't let me continue.

Do I have to register my apps(https://register.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/GlobaliReg.woa/wa/)?
Is it enough to register my macbook or do i have to register the independant products(macbooc,mac os x, iphoto,imovie etc.)?
So can (and where) I update it first to 07 and than to 08?

its actually a bit more complicated than that. That macbook only comes with ilife 06, in order to get the ilife 08, you must purchase it, then update the software. There is no simple upgrade.
