How much do national geographic photographers make?
What about other photographers? Are there any other magazines or really anything like national geographic?
No idea but if they would cover my travel expenses to the places they get to go I would do it for free.
Photographers in general can make a good living but very few get really rich on it. They do it mostly because they love doing it. And salaries vary tremendously
The Holy Week, Semana Santa is one of the most significant and important festivals of Puerto Vallarta. The Cora is a traditional native group in Mexico which paints the true, and not to forget the original version of this ritual. This suffused colorful ritual has also been featured in the National Geographic channel and is rated as one of the best festivals of Mexico. This carnival characterized by the "high energy" of the pagan, exhibits three powerful yet strenuous days and nights in which constant drumming, dancing, as well as initiation rites take place. The Judhos, which is a group of hundreds of wild youthful men, are usually the main attraction of the show. They wear body paint and also peculiar masks, which are meant to symbolize underworld demons. Their main purpose is to "hunt down, capture, and sacrifice Christ Sun." The Cora Semana Santa is one of the most distinctive and intriguing events of Puerto Vallarta where these young men with their bawdy sense of humor present several extremely hilarious moments.
Pvrpv dot com is offering special discounts on all Puerto Vallarta rentals.
An exhibition documenting the Holy Week traditions of the Cora opened at the Museo Nacional de Culturas Populares in Mexico City. "Judea, Semana Santa Cora," or "Judea, Cora Holy Week," compiles photographs by Guillermo Aldana, Fernando Rosales and Leticia Olvera taken in the Cora communities of Santa Teresa, La Mesa and Jesús María. The rituals of the Cora primarily merge customarily Catholic essentials with autochthonous practices. They are also known to be among the most multifarious Holy Week ceremonies in Puerto Vallarta Mexico.
This exhibition depicts how the Cora characteristically wipe away their identities. They do this by painting themselves with colors like black and white among other colors, which symbolically transforms them into "Jews" in order to hunt down the "Christ Sun," which will soon after be resurrected. The ritualistic tradition as aforementioned comprises of dancing in addition to cathartic screaming, which are all part of this celebration.
Even though the major part of the ceremony continues for three days, this event begins in the town church. The beginning is marked by a mass held by a boy with long hair representing "Boy Sun." The Museo Nacional de Culturas Populares is situated at Avenida Hidalgo 289, Colonia del Carmen, Coyoacán. The fascinating exhibition was open to all till the 10th of June.
