How many can really sleep in an Amtrak Deluxe Bedroom?

Officially an Amtrak deluxe bedroom on a Superliner sleeps two adults. I have heard that a suite (two bedrooms joined together) can sleep up to six. Is it possible to accommodate two adults and a child in one deluxe bedroom?

The deluxe bedroom sleeps two very friendly adults and one agile kid. The lower isn't as wide as a double bed. It's 40 inches wide where a regular double is 54 inches. The upper is even narrower, but the headroom is the real issue. An older adult would definitely have a problem. Kids are fine. (There is a webbing to prevent the child from falling out.) If the adults aren't that friendly, two roomettes would be fine. One sleeps with the child, one has a luxurious time alone. Pretty cost-effective.

I can't see how the suite could sleep two more than 2 individual deluxe bedrooms. Whoever says it sleeps six must think a deluxe sleeps 3. I've never tried the Family bedroom.

As to the shower/lack of shower -- I've never used the in-room shower and toilet. I much prefer the regular shower (never had to wait in a line for it) and toilets. The in-room is very claustrophobic and I'm too afraid of hitting the wrong button. (Some of the trains have buttons for shower and flush a bit too close to each other.)
