Much like the independent film makers, everyday consumers and Internet users enjoy posting comedy videos on websites such as YouTube. Mass media has brought so much attention to websites such as this that it seems everyone is trying their best at getting a little attention. For anyone with a little time to kill, this is a great way to surf around online comedy websites and look for a cheap laugh. Many such videos often become the next internet "phenomenon."

Through some select websites, Internet users can watch comedy skits of actual TV shows such as Saturday Night Live. SNL, as it is known, has become a staple in the comedy industry. Watching episodes of SNL online is available as a free service on specific services and conditions- with YouTube being one such outlet of watching this show.
