The long awaited Wii Fit game launched with success outperforming all play.com's records by selling out their entire stock in one single day. It looks like Nintedo has got another hot selling title under their belt, this one aiming to be the fastest selling Wii game ever.

Opening the Wii Fit package you'll find the actual game and a wireless Balance Board. When layed on the floor in front of your TV, this board is used to interact with the game using it's pressure sensitive technology. It picks upp all directional shifts in balance which is used for different game variations.

The big question people have been asking "can this really get you fit?" In fact several studies have claimed that Wii games can help you with fitness and even promote weight loss because they're so physical. John Moores University in Liverpool found that users could lose up to 12kg a year from exercising daily using Wii Sports sessions

Whe game has about 40 different activities and exercises divided into four categories including Aerobic exercise, Muscle Conditioning, Yoga Poses, and Balance Games. Some of the training activities include:

Step Aerobic Exercise: Step up and off the Balance board to the rythm of nice background music.

Muscle Conditioning: Wii fit features controlled motions using arms, legs and other body parts.

Yoga exercise: This excersise focuses on balance and stretching in classic poses.

Ski jumping: Squat as low as possible while maintaining balance and hen quickly stand up as fast as possible in order to do a good jump.

Balance Games: These fun activities include heading soccer balls and hula hooping. Challanges for the players overall body balance.

Wii Fit isn't the only game planned to be relased for the Balance board. Nintendo has announced that at least ten games are in development for the board. Not just fitness games but different kind of fighting and sports games that can take advantage of the unique balance-based interface as well.

The wii Balance board can be used for daily Wii Fit tests. Wii Fit will evaluate two key measures tracked via progress charts:

Body Mass Index (BMI): Weight based on a ratio of weight to height. Wii Fit Age: Measured by facturing the user's BMI reading, testing the Wii fit user's center of gravity & conducting balance tests.

The Wii balance board has a weight limit of 136kg so if you want to use it and your already over that weight you'll have to start loosing weight now!! Once your down to the weight limit and you start using the wii fit board im sure the weight will drop off you and you'll be as fit as a butchers dog!
